Why "Cookie Cutter" Consulting Doesn't Work

I've seen a lot of consultants walk into a business with a predetermined playbook. They spend two weeks on-site, deliver a 60-page report, and then disappear. Six months later, nothing has changed. The report is in a drawer. The problems are still there.

BDM is not in the business of doing "it" for you with cookie cutter services.

Why One-Size-Fits-All Fails

Every business is different. The $60 million construction firm has different problems than the $10 million multi-partner CPA firm. The IT cybersecurity contractor who started as a side hustle three years ago has different needs than the plumbing contractor who has grown from one to three million dollars and can't find time for family.

Cookie cutter consulting ignores these differences. It applies the same framework to every situation and calls it a solution. It doesn't work because the diagnosis never actually happened.

The Working "With You" Methodology

The BDM approach can only achieve the proper results in a working "with you" methodology. That means the diagnostic phase starts by looking at the business through your eyes. Learning what is working and what is not working. Identifying the specific problems, opportunities, and low-hanging fruit that are unique to your business.

The solution comes from the diagnosis. Not the other way around.

What Real Change Requires

Real change requires presence. Post-bootcamp oversight. Coaching and guidance as clients begin applying new skills in real time. It requires a relationship built on trust, not a transaction built on deliverables.

That's the difference between a report in a drawer and a business that actually changes.
